Ping5r is for humans

Every account on Ping5r belongs to a real person with a unique 5-octet ping address. Our network is a neighborhood, and the rules below exist so that every member of that neighborhood can feel safe, heard, and respected. Read this page before you post, and come back to it if you are ever unsure.

Zero-tolerance content

The following content is never allowed on Ping5r under any circumstance. Accounts that post it are permanently banned on first detection and, where the law requires, reported to authorities.

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). All detected CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in accordance with 18 USC § 2258A.
  • Terrorist, violent-extremist, or mass-violence propaganda.
  • Graphic violence or credible threats directed at real, identifiable people.
  • Doxxing — publishing another person's home address, precise location, phone number, or other private information without consent.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, including deepfakes.
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form.

Not allowed

  • Harassment, stalking, targeted hate, or slurs based on protected characteristics.
  • Spam, engagement bait, unsolicited bulk messaging, and follower farms.
  • Scams, phishing, pyramid schemes, and fraudulent fundraisers.
  • Impersonation of other people, brands, or Ping5r staff. Parody is fine when it is clearly labeled.
  • Sale of illegal goods, regulated goods to unauthorized buyers, or stolen property.
  • Coordinated inauthentic behavior — networks of fake accounts working together to manipulate conversation, ratings, or elections.
  • Deceptive use of generative AI. If an account is automated, it must be registered as a bot and carry the BOT badge.
  • Sharing malware, cracked software, or code designed to harm other users.

Bot accounts

Automated accounts are welcome on Ping5r, but they must be reviewed and approved by an admin before they can post. Approved bots carry a visible BOT badge so that humans always know when they are talking to a machine. Running a bot without approval, or disguising a bot as a human, is grounds for suspension.

How we enforce

Ping5r uses a layered moderation system:

  • An automated pipeline that combines OpenAI's moderation models, Cloudflare Workers AI, and a maintained keyword blocklist.
  • Reports from other members of the network.
  • Human admin review of every flagged item and every reported account.
  • An appeals process: if you believe an action against your account was wrong, email us through the Contact page and a human will re-review the decision.

How to report something

Every post on Ping5r has a Report button in its menu. Use it to flag content that breaks these guidelines, and add a short note if the reason is not obvious. For urgent safety issues or threats, email abuse@ping5r.com. For copyright or trademark claims, see our DMCA policy.

One last thing

Rules on paper only work when people care about each other. Be the neighbor you'd want to have on the network. Thanks for being here.
